On Saturday December 16th, 2017 local church members from Sonrise Church Forest Grove assisted West Tuality Habitat for Humanity Volunteers in working on some Critical Home Repair projects for local residents. 9 volunteers from Sonrise Church joined WestTuality Habitat staff members and volunteers as they worked on two local homes.
The volunteer group cleaned up leaves, insulated pipes and did minor roof repairs on a home in Cornelius, completing the repair projects on that home. They then went to a home in the Gales Creek area where they performed clean up activities in preparation for more extensive repairs to the home in some later stages of the Home Repair project.
The Habitat for Humanity Critical Home Repairs and Home Preservation program allows local Habitat for Humanity affiliates to provide repair and maintenance services to qualified families in the goal of keeping these homes in good repair and functional for the resident families.
West Tuality Habitat for Humanity has been building homes in the local community for over 25 years and has built 14 home to date. They are currently building their 14th home in the new Kidd Court project located on 22nd Place in Forest Grove. They also operate the Forest Grove Habitat for Humanity Restore at 3731 Pacific Avenue to help generate funds for their operations.
