construction projects

We build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

The Habitat Affordable Homeownership Program is designed for low to moderate income individuals and families living in our service area of western Washington County, Oregon (Forest Grove, Cornelius, Gaston, Gales Creek, Banks, North Plains, Buxton, etc.). Habitat partners help build their own homes alongside volunteers, receive financial education, then purchase their homes and pay an affordable mortgage.

current project

We are currently about to start building eight homes at the new Countryman Estates in Forest Grove, Oregon, the future site of eight new homes. It is our Habitat affiliate’s most ambitious construction project to date. The development named in honor of Bruce Countryman, who has been the Habitat affiliate’s volunteer construction manager for six of his 12 years volunteering with the organization. Read more about the ground-breaking ceremony in 2023 at this site.

We need volunteers to work with our wonderful build core building crew, alongside the future owners of the homes themselves. No prior construction experience is necessary to volunteer. Please note that this project is in Forest Grove, Oregon.
