West Tuality Habitat for Humanity, serving Western Washington County: Forest Grove, Cornelius, Gales Creek, Gaston, Banks, North Plains, etc. Must meet certain qualifications. Visit the homeownership program for more info to apply.

Open Door Counseling: Offers pre-purchase, first-time homebuyer education (credit reports, budgeting, setting goals, creating a spending plan) and applicable down-payment and closing cost assistance programs. Visit the organization’s web site or call 503.640.6689.

African American Alliance for Homeownership: Matching Funds for First-Time Homebuyers - Oregon Residents Only. Participants establish a savings account with a qualified financial institution for the purpose of purchasing a home. Savings are matched at a 3:1 rate. Program participants are required to complete an AAAH financial management course. Visit the organization’s web site or call 503-595-3517.

Oregon Bond Residential Loan Program: an Oregon state government program that provides competitive rates helping eligible families increase their home purchasing power and keep their monthly house payments affordable.

West Tuality Habitat for Humanity Home Repair Program. Serving homeowners in Western Washington County (Forest Grove, Cornelius, Gales Creek, Gaston, Banks, North Plains, etc. Applicants must meet certain qualifications, be the home owner and live in the home.

Washington County Housing Rehabilitation. This local government program offers loans and grants to income eligible residents for home repairs. Funding for these grants and loans are available on a first come first serve basis.

Community Action home weatherization assistance: provides no-cost weatherization assistance to income qualified residents of Washington County. Weatherization improvements can include insulation, air/duct sealing, ventilation, heating systems and windows. Visit the web site or call 503 648 6646.

Wood Stove Exchange

Washington County is now offering rebates of $1,500-$3,500 when you replace your old wood stove or insert with a new stove, insert, or other heating system. *Some households will qualify for a FREE replacement, based on income.

Family Promise

Family Promise provides temporary shelter, case management (coaching) resources, advocacy and referrals for homeless families with children that reside in our shelter program.

The Salvation Army

Serves women in the community who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness. They provide emergency shelter, showers, restrooms, lockers, telephone, resting areas, laundry, on-site support groups, activities, case management, information, referrals, snacks and advocacy.

The Good Neighbor Center

Families of all configurations and sizes are able to come to the shelter and stay together as a family unit.

Winter Shelter: Temporary Emergency Shelter

Shelter is offered during the winter, Monday and Tuesday nights, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at Forest Grove UCC (2032 College Way,) Wednesday and Thursday Nights at  Emanuel Lutheran Church, (1124 S Beech St, Cornelius, OR 97113.) Shelter opens at 7 p.m. but guests are welcome to arrive and wait outside starting at 5:30 p.m.

Centro Cultural: Casa Amparo

Currently, Casa Amparo is serving as our new hub for transitional housing services and emergency shelter for families in our community. As we move forward, we will renovate this property to create more accommodations for long-term transitional housing.

The Washington County Department of Housing Services offers affordable rental housing located throughout Washington County. Rents for these units are set to be affordable to low-income households earning between 50-80% of the Area Median Income and are typically below-market.

Centro Cultural: Cornelius Place: Low-income housing for Seniors, Cornelius Place residences include two floors of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments for seniors with household incomes of up to 50-60 percent of Area Median Income (AMI).

Bienestar: owns 12 low-income housing properties throughout Washington County, providing approximately 1100 adults and 900 children with a place to call home.
