Our Economic Impact in Western Washington County (2022 data)

Each Habitat for Humanity affiliate makes a tremendous impact on the lives of homeowners: Habitat's work impacts the health, environmental and educational outcomes, the civic and social engagement, and the financial stability of Habitat partner families, impacts that are transformative, well documented and frequently talked about.

But the impact of each Habitat affiliate goes beyond just the families they serve through the affiliate’s home-building and critical home repairs.

To serve our partner families and to advocate for affordable home ownership, West Tuality Habitat for Humanity spends money on businesses and services, primarily in Oregon and mostly here in Western Washington County: construction materials, office supplies, computer and software upgrades, signage and printing, utilities for our facilities, real estate, training, subscriptions, etc. Thanks to this spending by our Habitat affiliate, local businesses in particular prosper and are able to cover their own costs for their own employees, materials, etc. In addition, each Habitat affiliate employs full-time staff, part-time staff and short-term contractors and consultants who work alongside our volunteers to undertake activities to meet our mission.

"Beyond the house: How Habitat's investments ripple across local economies" is an infographic that presents an analysis of how West Tuality Habitat for Humanity's activities impacts the Western Washington County, Oregon economy, specifically.
